Snow Removal Policy

The Town of Federalsburg has a Snow Emergency Policy. Residents are required to remove the snow from all sidewalks within 24 hours after the snowfall has stopped. It is imperative that residents do not shovel snow into the street; because even though the snow has stopped falling, the snowplows will still be working to clear the streets. Any snow that is thrown into the street could be thrown back onto the sidewalk by snowplows.

All vehicles must be moved from the Snow Emergency Routes, which are clearly marked with street signs. Any vehicle that is not removed from the Snow Emergency Route, will be towed at the owner's expense.

VETERANS MEMORIAL

The Mayor and Council of the Town of Federalsburg is planning to place a Veteran Memorial on Marshyhope Creek Greenway Trail, Town Park Land on the Corner of Veteran Drive & Maryland State Highway Routes 318/313 on the Federalsburg By-pass in Federalsburg, MD.

This park land spot and planned location for the Memorial is the Flood Plain and Critical Area region of the Greenway Trail area. The Memorial will be a 51 feet diameter circle of pavers with names of the Veterans upon the pavers. Flag Poles will also be placed in the circle as well as small stones (4) to remember the missing in action personnel.

Any questions on the project, comments and addition information may be obtained at Federalsburg Town Hall during normal business days and hours. Call: 410-754-8173, Fax: 410-754-9269 or E-Mail at grantmainstreet@hotmail.com. Ask for George E. The Federalsburg Lions Club would like to invite you to participate in the annual Federalsburg Christmas Parade.  The Federlasburg Lions Club is in its second year of sponsorship for the parade.  This year's parade will take place on Monday evening, December 12, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.  Line up for the parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Bloomingdale Avenue and University Avenue.  The parade route will change somewhat this year.  The parade will begin on Bloomingdale Avenue, travel down North Main Street onto South Main Street and will end at Railroad Avenue.  This will enable the homeowners on South Main Street to enjoy the parade.  Our theme for the parade this year is "Winter Wonderland."

We will be awarding prizes in all categories as we have in the past.  In the float competition we will be having a commercial and non-commercial category.  In the marching units, we will be having a performing and non-performing category.  Trophies will be categories such as best appearing antique car and classic car.  We will also be giving awards to the best appearing vehicle clubs and horse groups, as well as the best appearing commercial or business entry other than floats.  We will have a special award known as "Committee's Award" honoring the best appearing unit in the parade.  All units are eligible to win this award.

If you wish to participate in our parade, you may use the participation form below.  If you have any questions concerning the parade, Wayne Cole may be reached at 410-754-5594 after 6:00 p.m. or 410-943-0200 during the day.  Wayne Cole may also be reached on his cell at 443-786-3943 or he can be emailed at wcole@wintransportinc.net.  Once again we hope you will consider participating in our parade on December 12, 2011.  If we are forced to postpone due to inclement weather, the parade will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011.
